Web 2.0

WEB 2.0 Tools

During the 30 minute session you could...

  • Create a podcast of you reading from your favorite children's book or telling a story using Freecorder
  • Create a Flickr or Picasa account and upload a few of your pictures
  • Play with some of the Flickr mashup tools
  • Create a map of places you have been using Google Maps
  • Create an account with LibraryThing or Shelfari or GoodReads to start a "online catalog" of books that you own, or books that you have read, or books that you want to buy

What you need to bring to classs:

  • Your favorite children's book (for creating a podcast)
  • Pictures on a usb (or on your computer)
  • A laptop

What you need to do before class:

During Class

  • Throughout the blog entry below you will see the words IN CLASS ACTIVITY. These sections give you an idea of what you could do with the tools that have been listed. Have fun playing with these tools.
  • Use the laptop on the table in the faculty lounge to record a podcast using Freecorder. A guide for Freecorder is next to the laptop.

After class

  • Think about how you could use the Web 2.0 tools in your classroom. What kind of projects would you have your students do? What resources would you need for those projects?
